Chuckle Factory will host a live comedy night, titled ‘Laugh My Pain Away’.
The event will take place on 7 March 2026 at the National Theatre of Namibia (NTN) in Windhoek.
Inspired by the realities many Namibians face daily, such as mental health challenges, unemployment, financial pressure and everyday stress that often goes unspoken, ‘Laugh My Pain Away’ will use comedy as both entertainment and relief.
The event carries a simple but powerful message: laughter can heal.
The performers featured on the night include Axarob, Aubametax, Cara the Great, Zita, Shefi Grande, Funny Jones and Anani, with a musical performance by Page Ethnix.
The show marks a national first, as it will be the first time the National Theatre of Namibia is filled with an all-Namibian comedy lineup.
The lineup was carefully curated to reflect diversity in style, perspective and comedic voice.
Each performer brings a unique approach, ranging from sharp social commentary and storytelling to observational and relatable humour rooted in everyday Namibian life.
Ananias Haimbondi, organiser and comedian at Chuckle Factory Comedy Club, said hosting the event at the NTN is both symbolic and intentional, as it sends a clear message that Namibian comedy deserves premium platforms and national recognition.
“Filling the National Theatre with purely Namibian comedians is about pride, validation and proving that local talent belongs on the country’s grandest stage,” Haimbondi said.
Namibia’s comedy scene has grown significantly over the past few years, with more comedians emerging and audiences becoming increasingly supportive of local acts.
Events such as ‘Laugh My Pain Away’ contribute to this growth by creating visibility, raising standards and demonstrating that comedy can be a sustainable career path.
It also inspires upcoming comedians to aim higher and believe that local talent can succeed at a national level.
Haimbondi noted that public interest has been encouraging, with growing excitement around the concept of filling the National Theatre with Namibian comedians.
“The theme, venue and lineup have sparked strong conversations, particularly on social media. As awareness continues to grow, the expectation is that momentum will steadily build toward the event,” he remarked.
