Star of the Week: Julius ‘Blue Machine’ Indongo

Home Featured Star of the Week: Julius ‘Blue Machine’ Indongo

Our Star of the Week is Namibia’s newly-crowned double world champion Julius ‘Blue Machine’ Indongo, who on Saturday made history when he stylishly conquered Russian opponent Eduard Troyanovsky – knocking him out just 40-seconds into the first round to clinch the coveted IBF/IBO junior welterweight world titles at the Khodynka Ice Palace in Moscow, Russia.

By winning the unified IBF/IBO junior welterweight world title belts, Indongo became Namibia’s only fourth boxer to hold world championship status – following in the footsteps of the legendary Harry ‘The Terminator’ Simon, Paulus ‘The Hitman’ Moses and more recently Paulus ‘The Rock’ Ambunda. The historic victory also saw the undefeated 33-year old Namibian climb to 2nd position on the latest world boxing rankings in his weight division – just a notch behind America’s Terence Crawford who is also a unified WBO/WBC light welterweight champion – while he also improved his already squeaky-clean record to 21wins from the same number of bouts as a professional fighter.
