Rundu
The Rundu Vocational Training Centre on Friday awarded certificates to 242 graduates, who successfully completed their training in various technical trades, enabling them to become skilled workmen. The event was attended by Governor of Kavango East Dr Samuel Mbambo, amongst others.
“You’ve been trained for certain skills that are needed in our communities today. We separated you from the community to put you in training and now what we are doing today is putting you back or re-incorporating you back into the larger society to take up your rightful places in terms of development,” Mbambo said.
“Today, with your graduation we’re saying to you, go back to the community and do what was taught to you that will help the Namibian nation. Help the nation in the realisation of Vision 2030. Vision 2030 was a dream for those who came up with it, “ Mambo said.
Thirty-seven of the newly graduated workmen were awarded certificates as auto electricians, 31 as auto mechanics, 15 as bricklayers, 19 received certificates as general electricians, 31 as joiners and cabinet makers and 109 qualified as office administrators.
