The Namibian music industry is mourning the untimely death of one of its own, Oviritje genre artist Kareke Tsaa Tsamkao, who passed away on August 25.

The artist, who was a member of the Okazera group from Otjinene in the Omaheke Region, will be buried on Saturday in the village of Okorukurire in Otjinene Constituency.

A vigil is currently being held at Otjinene Main. His uncle, Willem Tsamkao, is appealing to members of the public to help in any way they can, materially, financially and/or morally, to facilitate the funeral arrangements.

One of Okazera’s renowned artists of yesteryear, Jennifer Meroro, who currently resides in Canada, has released a new CD, which is available in many music outlets in the country as from today. She has pledged some of the proceeds from sales of the album to the funeral arrangements of well-loved fellow artist Tsaa.

Members of the public who wish to assist or who require further information can contact Muchina ‘Mello’ Hoveka on 081-2884682 or Jane Kavita on 081-3711435.
