The nominees have been revealed for the All Africa Music Awards, set to take place in Lagos State, Nigeria, on November 4 to 6, and Sally Keya, known as Sally or Boss Madam, is the only Namibian artist nominated.

Boss Madam is nominated in the category of Best Female Artist, Southern Africa with the song ‘Natural’ and will compete against some of Africa’s finest like Lira from South Africa’s ‘Let there be light’, Lizha James of Mozambique with her song ‘Chocolate’, Pah Chihera of Zimbabwe with the song ‘Nemoyo’, Zahara of South Africa with ‘Imali’ and Zonke of South Africa with ‘Reach’.

The nominees for the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) were announced recently, however the awards should not be confused with the African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) because they differ from each other. A team consisting of five regional directors and 54 country directors came up with nominees for this year’s awards.

Sally is a dynamic vocalist and stage performer with no boundaries to her music and style. She dropped the music video titled ‘Natural’ earlier this year and it’s safe to say the dancehall track was well received.  In the song Sally sings about how everything on her body is so natural.

Public voting for the nominees in the different categories of the awards will open as from August 30.
Calendar of events for the occasion will include the Africa Music Summit on Friday, November 4, and the AFRIMA Music Village, an open concert-style festival featuring nominees and other top-billed music stars.

The grand awards ceremony holds on Sunday, November 6 with over 2,500 guests expected in Lagos, Nigeria for the various events.
Other artists and musicians have also been nominated in other categories. To vote people simply have to visit the website http://afrimma.com/nominees-2016.

AFRIMA celebrates the best talent in the African music industry – which aligns with the vision of the African Union to foster peace, unity and development through cultural expression and creative enterprise.
