Agra’s DIY depot franchise store that opens its doors for business on February 12 has brought new job opportunities for a number of Namibians to enter or make progress in a career.

Jean Nel, who has been employed at Agra since 2013, was appointed as supervisor of the DIY depot. Jean made good progress in his position as goods administrator in the Okahandja branch’s buying division, which earned him the opportunity of further growth through more responsibilities and managing a whole division.

Prior to working at Agra, Jean gained experience as operator, operations manager and assistant manager in the transport business – local and cross-border.

Jean has a diploma in business management from the Namibia Business Institute and has completed various training courses at Agra. In his time at Agra he has proven that he is capable of taking on more responsibilities and with his spontaneous character and love for people, he grabbed the opportunity as supervisor of the DIY depot.

Two more staff members were promoted as a result of the opening of the DIY depot. Antonius Coetzee and Yolinda Adams were both promoted from shop assistants at Agra Okahandja to sales clerks: counter sales, at the DIY depot and Agra Okahandja respectively.
The DIY depot is in its final stages of preparation for opening on February 12.

The staff members of the DIY depot received training to equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their responsibilities and provide excellent customer service. The course was presented by Michael Degé of Agra ProVision, and Agra Okahandja staff joined the training to refresh their knowledge and skills on customer service and merchandising.

With a capable team, the Okahandja DIY depot is ready to serve clients with a large variety of products for building, plumbing, electrical, landscaping and gardening, swimming pool, automotive, flooring, welding, painting, tools and lighting.
