Former Brave Warriors and Black Africa striker Jerome Louis has been offloaded by his Botswana Premiership club Township Rollers, the club announced yesterday.
According to the club’s website www.rollersfc.com, Louis has been released along with England international striker Carl Finnigan, who indicated that he will retiring from competitive football while Louis on the other hand was said to be headed back home in search of greener pastures.
“We have successfully released Namibian striker Jerome Louis and British striker Carl Finnigan today (yesterday). Township Rollers graciously thank them for their efforts and services offered to us, and we wish them all the very best for their future endeavours,” said the club in a Facebook post. Louis, who joined the Botswana giants in July 2013 from Black Africa, wasted little time upon his arrival in the Botswana Premiership, quickly earning a prolific reputation as a prominent striker who easily carved out openings by terrorizing defenders with his impeccable movements in the opposition’s box.
The Namibian international went on to enjoy a sterling start to the 2013/2014 premier league season with Rollers, featuring in all fixtures the club played and in the process scoring a total of nine goals in all club competitions that season.
Louis scooped the prestigious Mascom Top 8 2014 Yellow Ball award by netting the highest number of goals (5) in the tournament.
