Afro-Pop singer Ndawana Ndume, who made his mark in the industry by scooping the Best Upcoming Afro-Pop Singer in the African Upcoming Artists Music Awards (AUAMA) in Nigeria at the end of last year, is expected to bring his award home today.

Ndawana left Namibia to claim his award and attend the awards ceremony in November last year, where he performed and shared the stage with prominent African stars, such as Diamond from Tanzania, Wiz Kid and Tiwa Savage from Nigeria.

As part of his reward, Ndawana also collaborated on a song, entitled ‘Africa I will Be’, along with Wiz Kid and another, entitled ‘Africa’, with superstar Serge Benaud from Ivory Coast.

Ndawana then shot his latest music video in New Delhi, India, for the winning song, ‘Ondjila Oile’, which means ‘long journey’. The video was released on social networks at the beginning of January.

According to Ndawana, he spends most of his time exploring Asia, with the aim of recording new songs with different artists. He says his new songs will form part of his upcoming album, ‘Ondjila Oile’, scheduled for release in September.

“The music industry is probably one of the most interesting, but difficult business arenas in the world. It has always been competitive and these days, it is becoming more difficult to live by the bling. From my point of view I want all artists in Namibia to be exceptional and provide quality music,” says Ndawana.

He plans to work with various artists around the world and become one of the best young musicians in Africa.
