Seven of ten people involved in a head-on collision at Oshipanda village near Ogongo in Omusati Region were admitted to the Oshikuku Roman Catholic Hospital last Saturday evening. The accident happened around 20h00.

The accident involved a silver Toyota Corolla travelling to Outapi and a Ford Bantam pick-up heading in the opposite direction. Three people escaped unhurt.

Four of the seven injured were later transferred to the Oshakati Intermediate Hospital due to the seriousness of their injuries.

The police spokesperson in Omusati, Sergeant Anna Kunga, said the cause of the accident had not yet been established.

“We don’t really know what happened because the two drivers were seriously injured and were not able to speak,” related Kunga.

In a separate matter, a 26-year-old male from Onandjamba settlement near Okalongo fainted and died on the spot.
Alpheus Mwautikange was on his way to buy a recharge voucher when he fainted. Mwautikange was from Epoko village.

A post-moterm is yet to be conducted to determine the cause of death.
