Kuisebmond Secondary School was crowned FNB Classic Clashes champions in the 3rd coastal clash of the youth football tourney.
The seasiders overpowered bitter rivals SI Gobs Secondary School by 4 goals to 2.
Winger Rivaldo Festus of Kuisebmond SS walked away with the man of the match award, while his teammate Jonas Sheyavali was the deserved recipient of the Namib Mills hero award.
In other action, hosts Westside High School claimed the 4th and final coastal derby, dispatching Kolen Foundation Secondary School from Arandis 4 – 2. Westside’s Julia Kafugula was honoured with the Namib Mills hero award for her hard work as a dedicated learner, with Kolen Foundation’s Romario Cloete taking the man of the match accolade.
A delighted Westside coach, Engelhard Ugam, could not contain his joy. ‘’We are very excited about our victory. In the past we did not perform so well – thus in preparation for the match we had a different approach. We derived from the strategy of mixing young players with more experienced players, which accompanied by stronger preparations turned out to be our winning recipe.”
Ugab added that the valued support from their peers motivated the boys to play well and elevated team spirit.
