ADMS ready to complement government

Home National ADMS ready to complement government

Windhoek

Africa Disaster Management Services (ADMS) a Namibian disaster risk management company says it is ready to complement government in dealing with disasters and emergencies.

ADMS was formed in response to “the loss of human lives and property due to disaster rising worldwide with grave consequences for the survival, dignity and livelihood of individuals, particularly the poor,” says Abel Augustinyo the director and founder of the disaster management agency.

He says there is increasing vulnerabilities related to technology and socio-economic conditions due to unplanned urbanization and development within high-risk zones, under-development, environmental degradation, climate variability and the impact of epidemics such as HIV/AIDS.

“It has become ever imperative to increase resilience of communities and institutions in order to effectively manage risks and hazards and we are optimistic that we at ADMS can contribute to such,” said Augustinyo.

“ADMS aims to support government efforts to reduce risks associated with disasters such as recurrent droughts and to rapidly and effectively respond to disasters and emergencies in a co-ordinated manner,” said Augustinyo.
