Windhoek
It’s Father’s Day this Saturday and storytelling time at the Franco-Namibian Cultural Centre (FNCC) for the children.
Father’s Day is a celebration honouring fathers and celebrating fatherhood, paternal bonds, and the influence of fathers in society. Many countries celebrate it on the third Sunday of June, though it is also celebrated widely on other days by many other countries. Storyteller Ndataneka Kapunda will take children through the history by reading them stories of when the day was founded, how and why it is cerebrated. Story telling is centered on different themes and important dates on the celebratory calendar and importantly they are fit into the Namibian context, catering for children between 6 to 11 years. It is free and all parents are expected take their children to the reading starting at ten O’clock (10H00).
