WINDHOEK – At its last Board Meeting on 18 November the Meat Board decided to increase the selling price of cattle ear tags. This measure was necessitated due to the weakening currency and the subsequent cross-subsidising of the price of ear tags that has been subsidised from other Meat Board funds for quite a time now. From January 01, 2015 the prices of ear tags will be as follows: Standard ear tags – N$22.00 per set, and Maxi ear tags – N$25.00 per set. All further price increases will then take place on an annual basis based on the inflation rate. For further enquiries Dr Anja Boshoff can be contacted at the Meat Board (telephone 061 275841).
