WINDHOEK – After seven rounds of gruelling matches in the bloated 16-team MTC Premiership, the stage is set for a mouth-watering clash, the mother of all derbies at Windhoek’s Independence Stadium on Saturday.

The pick of the weekend’s matches in the country’s flagship football league between traditional Katutura rivals Black Africa and African Stars will go a long way in defining the ultimate destination of the coveted title – come end of the season.

Both teams are the only unbeaten teams in the elite league so far but one of them is likely to surrender that perfect start to their 2014/2015 league campaign when the two giants trot onto the field to confront each other on Saturday, 18h00.

Arguably the most successful football clubs in history of domestic football when it comes down to winning silverware and judging by the quality of their playing personnel, BA and Stars will be out to entertain local football fans with attractive football.

An interesting battle is expected in the middle of the park with the skillful Awilo Stephanus coming up against the equally dangerous Riaan Cloete while the inform Boetietjie Seibeb will battle it out against the fast improving Denzil Hoaseb.

Stars’ pocket size attacking midfielder Cloete is maturing like old wine and could pose danger for the often-jittery BA rearguard if left unchecked.

The Reds will go into the penultimate clash in high spirits hoping for history to repeat itself after having wrestled 4 valuable points from their more illustrious opponents during the last term.

In their last recent match, Brian Isaacs’ charges enjoyed the better of the proceedings – edging the Reds in the maiden edition of the Standard Bank Super Cup – a defeat that was surely a bitter pill to swallow for the usually hard-to-please Reds supporters.
