RUNDU – Green Cycle AIJ Joint Venture which is contracted under the mass housing scheme says 120 new houses will be handed over to their new occupants by next month.
The board of directors of Green Cycle AIJ JV revealed this last Wednesday when they paid a courtesy visit on Kavango East Regional Governor, Dr Samuel Mbambo.
The board of directors also took stakeholders on a site visit to appraise the construction progress.
Among the group were politicians, the heads of government departments and agencies, representatives from the Government Institutions Pension Fund (GIPF), Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI), FNB, AgriBank, Standard Bank, Nedbank, Bank Windhoek, Nantu and Napwu.
“Today is a stakeholders’ engagement day to show the political leadership as well as the community leadership what we have been doing here since we got the contract.
What are the milestones that we have reached, how many houses we will deliver by December this year and just basically to accord and afford an opportunity to all stakeholders towards questions that they might want to ask in regard to the project,” said Henny Seibeb from Green Cycle.
According to Seibeb, Green Cycle is happy with the progress despite challenges as reported in the media recently.
“We are happy and sure to reach the target which is 120 houses by 15 December and by end of next year we will reach our target as per given to us by NHE,” Seibeb said.
Green Cycle is expected to deliver 308 houses to the NHE by December 2015.
The housing project is situated south of Unam Rundu Campus, between Kehemu and Kaisosi.
