WINDHOEK – Following a flawless display since day one of the African Women’s Championship, Nigerian duo Asisat Oshoala and Desire Oparanozie were handsomely rewarded for their tireless individual efforts in making sure the Super Falcons strolled unscathed to a record 7th title of the championship.

The Nigerian pair were each on target for the Falcons as Nigeria trounced rivals Cameroon 2-0 in the final match of the championship on Saturday at the packed Sam Nujoma Stadium in Windhoek.

With her five goals, Oparanozie undisputedly claimed the ‘Scorpion Zinc’ Golden Boot award for being the top goal scorer at the two-week championship, while her teammate Oshoala walked away with the TN Mobile’ Best Player of the Tournament award.
Also in the thick of things was Cameroon goalkeeper Annette Ngo Ndom, who scooped the prestigious Air Namibia Golden Glove award for being the best goalie of the championship, while South Africa’s Banyana Banyana took consolation in the CAF Fair Play award
