WINDHOEK – “It is awesome, I like the new mall, although some of the new shops are not open, it is still very exciting,” was the response by one of the people who flocked to the Grove Mall shopping centre in Windhoek’s Klein Kuppe suburb when it opened its doors yesterday morning.
Most of the people New Era spoke to were hunting for bargains and opening specials advertised for many of the shops in the shopping centre.
Some went simply to experience the new shopping centre. “I am here with my wife, just to see what is different at this new mall”, said one shopper.
Court jesters, mimes, clowns and puppet show kept visitors to the shopping centre entertained, and those with time posed for pictures with the actors.
The 55 000m2 shopping centre forms part of the mixed-use Hilltop Estate, was developed by Atterbury Property Holdings, Attacq, The Frontier
Property Trust and Demushuwa Property Developer at a cost of N$1 billion.
It promises to offer new shopping experience in the country with shops such as Lacoste, Aldo and Earth Child.
