WINDHOEK-Namibian Gospel singer, Gerson Gomeb, popularly known as Ginno, is still growing strong when it comes to the music scene and is currently busy with his fourth studio album to be titled My Victory, schedule for launch on October 3.
Born in a dusty town of Khorixas in the Kunene region, the young aspiring gospel singer started to carve herself a singing niche in the local music industry, and the gospel genre in particular, while singing for the Cornelius Goreseb High School choir, eight years ago, before joining Khorixas Lutheran Youth Group in 2007. “Everyone started to recognise me, motivate and encourage me to be a singer. I then moved to Otjiwarongo to explore my talent and I recorded my debut album, Jesub Sarab Ai (On the cloth of Jesus), which contributed to my public performance and made me popular on the Damara Nama Radio Station. This was followed by my second hit album, Blessing Everlasting Joy,” says Ginno. He adds that, with his second album, he hosted up to 45 own shows.
At the end of 2012, Ginno moved to Windhoek and started working with different gospel artists such as Clerence Gaingob, Elvis Skrywer, Lentina and Charles Golden, who helped him to release his third album titled, Ma Aote, meaning “give me back”.
“My biggest success was when I performed at the NBC TV Gospel Show known as The New Season, last year. This was my greatest achievements and I experienced a lot,” he says.
“I would like to encourage all young people of Namibia to rise up and follow their hearts desire for as God has a reason for every happening. Thanks to all my supporters all over Namibia for supporting me for the past eight years,” he concludes.
