Every morning ten- year- old Zebu and his father have to give away the fish they catch to pay a debt. To Zebu, photo fish is what they fish until he decides to take matters in his own hands to get his family out of debt.

Lezare – For Today (2010) by Zelalem Woldemariam, Ethiopia is 15 minutes and is for the  8-12 years age group. It is in Amharic with English subtitles.

A homeless boy, Abush, wakes up hungry early in the morning in a small village. He starts to beg to buy bread but no one pays attention to him. The villagers are busy preparing for a tree-planting event. The film, based on an Ethiopian folktale, carries a powerful message about global warming, environmental protection, poverty and hunger.
