WINDHOEK – No one has been arrested in connection with the dumping of a foetus estimated to be six-months-old at the Ombili informal settlement in Otjiwarongo.

The foetus was discovered on Monday morning.

NamPol’s Otjozondjupa Region public relations officer, Sergeant Maureen Mbeha, informed New Era on Tuesday that no arrests had been made. It is suspected the foetus was aborted on Sunday night.

Mbeha was quoted by Nampa as saying a passer-by saw some fresh blood and a swarm of flies around what appeared to be a dirty nappy on Monday morning.

The passer-by then established that it was a male foetus and alerted the police.

Mbeha requested community members in and around Otjiwarongo who know of a woman who was pregnant recently but cannot account for her pregnancy to inform the police, Nampa reported.
