WINDHOEK– MultiChoice Namibia has launched One Africa Television onto its Direct to Home (DTH) platform on DStv at 10:00 (CAT). One Africa Television will now be available on DStv Channel 284.

One Africa Television is a local Namibian free to air broadcaster, which provides up-to-date information and entertainment to urban viewers, as well as local factual and relevant news. One Africa Television caters to a primarily youthful urban audience, while still keeping it national with programming topics and themes for all Namibians. The channel will be available on DStv’s Premium, Compact, Family and Access bouquets.  “As a responsible operator, MultiChoice values the role of free-to-air broadcasters and so welcomes One Africa Television to our DTH platform on DStv”, says Roger Gertze, General Manager of MultiChoice Namibia.

 

Speaking at the launch event, Interim Managing Director of One Africa Television, Madryn Cosburn stated that “One Africa Television is now available in Namibia on the existing analogue platform, the digital terrestrial television (DTT) platform with GOtv, and now on the direct to home (DTH) platform via MultiChoice’s DStv service”. He further adds  that “One Africa Television is proud to be associated with MultiChoice, and sees the carriage of the channel on DStv as a major milestone in the history of the company. With MultiChoice’s world leading satellite service, One Africa can now provide access to the Namibian public at any geographic location in Namibia”. He says  that watching One Africa Television will now be very easy for viewers, “all you have to do is install a DStv decoder and dish, select DStv Channel 284 to receive a pristine digital signal and sit back to enjoy.”

 

One Africa Television has been providing a free analogue broadcast service to urban viewers in Namibia for more than ten (10) years. The channel provides quality programming and relevant local and international news to local viewers. Quality entertainment and infotainment includes: News and Current Affairs with News-on-One, local music and entertainment showcase with  YO Music Countdown, soapies and series with Glee, Bones, Burn Notice,7de Laan,and telenovelas with Beautiful Ceci.
