WINDHOEK – Namibia’s former World Boxing Organization (WBO) Africa Lightweight champion Jatoorora ‘Sting’ Tjingaveta says he foresees nothing stopping him from returning to the peak of his boxing career and promised to make use of opponent Peter ‘The Butcher’ Malakia to back up his statement.
Tjingaveta takes on Malakia for the vacant Junior Welterweight national title tomorrow at the Independence Arena in Katutura, in the main bout of the Local is Lekker Boxing Bonanza. “I’m ready and have been very ready for some weeks now, so come tomorrow well will see who is the best. I have worked hard for this fight and I see no reason why I should struggle against Malakia. He is a good fighter, but tomorrow I will prove why I’m the best and why I’m saying I will win the fight,” said a confident Tjingaveta yesterday. In response, a calm Malakia said it was his time to shine and will not allow Tjingaveta to stand in his way. “We have fought on three occasions before and he won on two of those, so it’s my time to shine and level the score board. Come tomorrow, I will shine!” a confident Malakia said.
There will be plenty action-packed undercard fights featuring upcoming top boxers such as Walter Kutondokwa, who squares off against Theophilus Vatileni in the Middleweight division over 10-rounds. Mike Shonena will trade blows with Tommy Hango in a Welterweight bout over six rounds, to mention but a few. The gates open at 10h00 with live music performances by The Dogg, Dj Chin Chila & Dj Alba.
