WINDHOEK– They are going as united Namibian artist, to represent the Namibian music industry, says Gazza.
“It is going to be my first time, I still don’t know what to expect but I am excited as this will be a good networking for us with different artist from all over the world,” says Gazza as one of three Namibian artists partaking in the TribeOne Dinokeng music festival in the City of Tshwane in South Africa in September. They are Gazza himself as Namibian Annual Music Awards (NAMs) 2014 Best Male Artist of the Year, Best Female Artist of the Year, Erna Chimu and the Best Album of the Year winner, Elvis se Seun. “I deserve this opportunity as I work hard on my album that got me this platform. I am doing what I have been doing for years now, which producing good music only now I am doing it a different way and pushing it a different direction as I am a father and a husband now. Everything I am doing I know someone is looking up to me,” says Gazza.
The Male Artist of the Year believes they all deserve this opportunity, and they are going to be the best representative for Namibia. “They choose us because they trust us and our ability and we got to do it for my country and not for ourselves. We will make sure they talk and recognise our music industry when we leave,” he says. Gazza points out that a platform like this is educational, music wise, as they give musicians the opportunity to gain experience from others. “We will be able to get something that we can inject in our industry, and have something new to offer to other artists and our fans too. So expect the best from us, as we are already preparing for the show. We will make a history they are not going to forget,” promises Gazza.
The three-day festival which will feature over 350 artist and DJs across 62 stages, 24-7 will take place on September 26 to 28. Pre-registration of ticket sales to the public is open, this allows eligibility to buy early bird tickets on discount and the tickets already went on sale mid-May.
