WINDHOEK – Ovaherero Traditional Authority Paramount Chief and Nudo president Dr Kuaima Riruako has been admitted to the intensive care unit of the private Roman Catholic Hospital in the capital, but the family yesterday described Riruako’s condition as stable.
Riruako, one Namibia’s veteran politicians and long serving parliamentarian, was admitted in the Roman Catholic Hospital in Windhoek on Saturday, two days after celebrating his 79th birthday, according to family spokesperson, Dr Hoze Riruako.
He has been diagnosed with high blood pressure, he said.
The family yesterday asked for privacy, saying the public should not attempt to visit Riruako in hospital to allow him time to heal as advised by the medical team treating him.
“Should anyone need information concerning the progress of the paramount chief in terms of recovery, the family shall be most obliged to keep relatives, friends, the community and the nation at large informed and updated in this regard,” Dr Hoze Riruako said.
