WINDHOEK – International football legends of the 2014 FNB Global United Climate Kick delegation visited the Old Power Station and Auspannplatz branches last week to mingle with managers and staff.

The footballers received a warm reception from branch managers Annatjie Booysen and Letecha Yeomans and their teams. Ingrid Goeieman, Manager Donations and Sponsorships at FNB Namibia said every year so far an FNB branch enjoyed a visit by the FNB Global United football legends and this year was no exception. “Not only do we wish to create awareness around environmental issues in the districts we visit, this year in Mariental and its surroundings and the wider Namibian public through the media, but also among our own employees. Our CEO at the launch of this year’s initiative stressed that each and every person plays a role when it comes to using resources wisely. It concerns all of us and hence FNB also creates awareness amongst our staff to also fulfill their role as champions of the environment and protectors of our scare resources.” During the branch visits both Rainer Hahn of Global United and Goeieman addressed employees briefly and the employees also had a chance to mingle and speak to the footballers, while having some shirts signed while posing with the footballers for photos.
