WINDHOEK-More than 80 Namibian youths have registered for training with The Dream Dancing Academy (TDDA), as part of its ongoing youth programme initiated last year.

The representative council of the Academy, Modise Ndlovu said the programme aimed to take Namibian youths out of streets, to teach and train them about dangers of alcohol and drugs abuse for free through dancing, especial those who drop-out of schools. TDDA is a community youth organisation founded by Kevin Rukoro last April with only 12 members as mentors, and since 80 youths have registered with it and are currently training with it. “We first met the 12 members at the Gospel Truth Ministry Church as we wanted to dance on one of the Namibian artist’s music video. We decided to get together, we discussed, formed up signed a contract,” says Dlovu.

“This is a Christian’s group that converts youths from streets and teaches them about God’s words as well. We normally dance to Gospel songs of South African artists such as Young People by Kekeletso Pofolo, Baleka by Joyous Celebration Group and to our own song known as Praise Madley,” he says.

This Saturday, the DDA will be dancing at Meike Gospel CD Launch. They will also launch their academy official in May 02, this year. “At this launch, we will be inviting international artists and Namibian gospel artists to join us on our big day,” Ndlovu concludes.
