By Staff Reporter WINDHOEK Tertius Stears is the new Chief Executive Officer of Consolidated Financial Services (CFS) and Sanlam Nami-bia Ltd. He starts work in his new position on July 1, 2006. CFS Board Chairman Koos Brandt made the announcement in a press statement yesterday. Stears started his career with Sanlam Namibia Ltd, a subsidiary of CFS, in 1995 as Financial Manager and has since held various senior positions in Sanlam, the most recent of which was as Chief Operating Officer of CFS, a position he assumed in 2004. He holds a Bachelor of Accounting degree and an Honours of Commerce (Management Accounting) awarded by the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa and is an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. Brandt also announced the appointment of Matheus Shikongo as an Independent Director and Vice Chairman to the CFS Board. Shikongo, in addition to being a long serving Mayor of the City of Windhoek, serves on various boards and has a long association with the life insurance industry and previously served on the Board of Metropolitan Life Namibia. “On behalf of the board members, management and staff, we welcome Mr Shikongo to CFS and look forward to benefiting from his wealth of experience and guidance, as we build our portfolio of businesses in the CFS stable,” said Brandt.
