DNEA sets exam papers, determines the dates for examinations, releases examination results and also determines the fees for examination registration. The Directorate of National Examinations and Assessment has set different dates and different fees to register for examinations for 2007. Registration for examinations is from 26 February – 2 April 2007. Late registration for the October/November examinations is 22 May – 8 June 2007, and only in cases of death and where people were out of the country during this period. So, learners should not wait for this period. Namcol encourages learners to carefully study the Exam booklet provided to them at enrolment points. Apart from its Alternative to Secondary Education, which is grades 10 and 12, Namcol also offers professional programmes for learners. These are Commonwealth Diploma in Youth in Development (CYP), the Certificate in Education for Development (CED), the Higher Diploma in Adult Basic Education and Training (HDABET) and the Certificate in Local Government Studies (CLGS). Certain requirements must be met for these programmes. For more information on the professional programmes, the Distance Education Coordinator at Head Office can be reached at tel. No. 320 5244.
