WINDHOEK-Moses Shikalepo, aka Quado (26), is planning the release of his first solo album early next month titled Move On.
Born in Kwanza-Sul in Angola, Quado grew up at Onesi Village in Ohangwena Region and enrolled his lower education at Onesi Combine School, before he moved to Ruacan, where he is currently based. He started recording music in 2010 and met his first producer known as Mr Chano. “Mr Chano had a studio in Oshakati and he produced three songs appearing on my upcoming album, Move On,” he says.
He adds his album is also dedicated to the Founding Father, Dr Sam Shafiishuna Nuujoma. “This song is at number 11 on the album and is titled Dr Sam Nuujoma. On this song, I talked about the Founding Father and his team, giving them a vote of thanks for what they have done to our country during the liberation struggle. I also wished them a long life as heroes and heroines of this beloved land,” says Quado.
However, In 2012 Quado moved to Windhoek looking for better producers and good life in the city where he met Young-T, a young and brilliant producer who produced nine songs on his album. Young-T mixed and mastered the whole album. On his album you can also find tracks such as Move On featuring Omsaane Niihana????????, which is also the name of the album. He says on this song he talked about his life, what he went through and explains how he suffered because of poverty after his father passed away in 1996. “I tried to encourage the young orphans out there that being an orphan is not the end of the world, they must be strong, one day they will become successful people. Track 7, Oshike, Is a very important track on this album, especially to my fellow youths, as I talk about passion killing, telling the government to take an urgent action about this, Christians to respect ten commandments of God, and telling all men to stop killing their women,” he says.
Quado concludes by inviting his fans to request his songs for airing on all local radio stations. He sing in Otjiherero, Oshiwambo, Oludhemba and English.
