Home Business Agra receives PMR awards

WINDHOEK – Agra as the leading agricultural business in Namibia scooped six awards at the annual PMR (Performance Management Review) Awards breakfast on February 10. Golden Arrow Awards were awarded to Agra in the categories Swakara/pelt/wool; game; abattoirs; suppliers of agriculture equipment and products and tractor and farm implement dealerships.

The highest award of the six, the Diamond Arrow Award in the Business Sector, Livestock, was proudly received by the Agra livestock division.

Like in all the other categories, Agra was also rated highest in the industry in this category, with an overall rating of 4.15 out of a possible 5. “We are really excited about our award and grateful for the recognition. It shows that maintaining our level of service to livestock producers in Namibia is acknowledged,” said Titus Koen, General Manager: Livestock.

Agra livestock achieved a turnover of N$525.7 million in the previous financial year, selling 346 500 animals, including cattle, sheep, goats and game. Besides doing livestock auctions and transactions, this division of Agra is now also equipped to do property auctions and transactions, with staff members who are qualified as property agents.

The livestock division’s structure covers Namibia with agents to serve clients from Karasburg in the south to Grootfontein in the northeast and Outjo in the northwest and livestock offices in the major centres where Agra has retail branches.

The PMR awards are the culmination of a research process whereby companies and institutions are rated based on respondents’ perceptions with a strong focus on evaluating and measuring customer service and customer satisfaction.

Competition in the livestock service sector in Namibia is strong and good, consistent, flexible and dedicated service is essential to maintain market share.

As the awards are indicators of a company, department or institution’s competencies and reputation as undisputed leader in the respective industry, receiving the award in a competitive market is indeed a compliment.
