WINDHOEK-The second 14-track Maszanga’s album titled The Chosen Ones,” is now selling online.

Manager of MasZanga, Knowledge Ipinge, has confirmed  this saying the album is now available for digital sales over 110 online stores including the most popular iTunes, Amazon MP3, Rhapsody, Emusic, Spotify, Grace note, Musicme, Googlemusic, Orange and  CD Baby in about 240 countries Worldwide.  “One can also listens to the full album by streaming it on different music sites and mobile applications such as Deezer, Napster, Kleek music, Beat music, Bleep and Audio lunchbox,” says Ipinge, adding that buyers can also buy MasZanga’s full album or single songs straight from their Desktop Computer, Laptop, IPhone, IPad or Android by simply visiting one of the online music stores and pay with credit card, debit card and pay pal account.

One can define the genres on this album as a modern fusion of Afro Pop complimented by urban and traditional elements. Only three artists Ben Mutjangatjike Muundjua, Challo Nderura and the legendary Steward Sukuma from Mozambique are featuring as guests artists. Ipinge says this one differs  from the group’s previous album as on the latter the artists clearly have reached a point that enables them to explore their lyrics, to speak about life through their music and inspire social cohesion. The music on the album is a fusion of fresh, emotional and uniquely blended beats complimented by melodies jumping in and out of time, quickly articulated verses alternated by each member singing one verse and chimes in at the chorus.

MasZanga have worked on this album three to five months including composing, writing and recording and it is worth the wait. “The album is titled The Chosen Ones simply because in a nutshell, the title of the album defines a common cliché where the “chosen one” which in this context refers to each individual song on the album as chosen by destiny to stop an impending disaster that threatens social cohesion.”

“I rate MasZanga’s album as my best work to date in my capacity as an Executive Producer simply because it is charged with a mission to restore MasZanga’s reputable position within the music industry, and to combat social issues such as gender-based violence, and to provide long term humanitarian and development assistance to the youth,” says Ipinge.

The album is mixed and has been mastered by renowned sound engineer, Johan Van der Colff, and his team at MMX Studios in Johannesburg and Stellenbosch respectively. Van der Colff is also known for his best work of mastering and mixing the album of the jazziest and songbird, Zahara, known as Loliwe. “All the songs on the album are hits in my view as they cater for a variety of audience depending on their demography and music tastes. But rating from what appeals most to my ten-year-old son, then I will single out, Africa Arise, Chasing our Dreams (like KRK), Tua Heua, The Nation’s Cry, Proudly Namibian and Protocol,” Ipinge makes his pick.
