WINDHOEK – The Ministry of Education has announced that the results for the Grade 12 ordinary level full-time and part time candidates for 2013 will be officially released on Thursday following good progress with the marking and processing of the examination data.
In a statement issued yesterday, the ministry said this year 42 861 candidates comprising of 19 501 full-time and 23 360 part-time candidates were registered for the Namibia Senior Secondary Certificate (Grade 12) examinations at 171 senior secondary schools and 117 part-time centres.
Further, the ministry noted that the number of markers who were involved in the marking of the Grade 12 answer scripts were 1 016 compared to 780 in 2012.
The results will be made available on the website of the Directorate of National Examinations and Assessment at www.dneaa.gov.na and also on www.moe.gov.na, which is the website of the education ministry.
In addition, the results will also be made available through an SMS service and the following procedure should be followed when using the service.
One can send a message which gives the name of the examination for example, NSSCO followed by the surname and first name of the candidate.
Example (a) NSSCO Kaperu Thoe or write your full examination number for instance NSSCO M050015.
According to the ministry, such information should be sent to either of the following numbers – 2929 or 99099 – and in response to the student’s name and surname the results will be displayed on the screen of the cellphone. Both the websites and the SMS service, the ministry explained, will become active on Thursday [January 16] at midnight.
Regional offices, the ministry said, will provide a service during office hours by supplying the results from the broadsheets to candidates and relatives who personally visit such offices or phone them.
