With more than two decades of experience in the industry, Oteya has established herself as a pioneering figure in Namibian music.
She began her career in the early 2000s as a member of the acclaimed R&B duo Gal Level, gaining international recognition through nominations at prestigious events such as the MTV Base Awards, Channel O Music Awards, and the Kora Awards.
Her solo career, which commenced in 2013, further reinforced her position as one of Namibia’s leading female artists. Oteya continues to captivate audiences with her distinctive sound, deeply-influenced by her Oshiwambo heritage and her engaging stage presence.
During this edition of Night Under the Stars, Oteya will present a select set list that guides the audience through the highlights of her musical journey.
“I always make sure there’s something for everyone, from my older hits to my newest music. I am excited to showcase songs that I have never performed live before, including tracks inspired by my Oshiwambo influences,” said the musician.
Known for her energetic and electrifying performances, Oteya promises an unforgettable showcase.
“People come to my shows expecting an electrifying performance, and I plan to deliver exactly that top-quality sound, lighting and an incredible atmosphere,” she noted.
The event will also feature special guest Snazzy, who is set to bring even more excitement to the night event.
This concert is part of the “Night Under the Stars” (NUTS) series, a programme initiated by the Goethe-Institut Namibia to support and promote local artists and live music.
Established in 2016, NUTS offers a dynamic platform for artists from various genres to display their talents and connect with the community, thereby encouraging artistic expression and cultural exchange.
The event, which is set to take place at the Goethe-Institut, promises to deliver an exhilarating performance, with gates opening at 18h00 and the show commencing at 19h00.
