The police have reported a wide range of cases of people who were found in possession of, distributing and dealing with illicit substances. The Namibian Police announced this in the weekend crime report.

In Swakopmund, Mandume Ndemufayo Street, around 00h32. A 29-year-old Namibian male suspect was arrested after he was found in possession of five bankies of cannabis valued at N$650 during a police stop and search operation.

At Narraville, Walvis Bay, two Namibian male suspects aged 30 and 31 were arrested at different times, after they were found in possession of 17 bankies of cannabis valued at N$1 800 during a police search.

In Khorixas, at different times and in different areas, two Namibian male suspects, aged 29 and 28, were arrested after they were found in possession of cannabis and mandrax tablets. Value is not yet determined.

Another notable arrest was made in Hardap’s Gochas, where a 27-year-old female suspect was found in possession of 10 bankies of skunk (cannabis) valued at N$2 250. The drug was found concealed in her brown handbag during a police search at her house in the Gomxab-Naub location.

In the capital, Mariental, six Namibian male suspects between the ages of 23 and 45 and a 36-year-old Namibian female suspect were arrested at different locations after they were found in possession of five full mandrax tablets, two half mandrax tablets, one quarter mandrax tablet, and cannabis valued at N$19 600 during an undercover operation.

At Maltahohe, five Namibian male and two Namibian female suspects between the ages of 18 and 67 were arrested at two different occasions after they were found with alleged mandrax tablets, valued at N$13 080, and cannabis valued at N$2 060, including a cannabis plant. The case of dealing in dangerous dependence-producing substances was opened.

In Rehoboth, two Namibian male and two Namibian female suspects aged 18, 27 and 29 were arrested after they were found in possession of nine bankies of cannabis skunk (15 grams) valued at N$750 and 10 x units of crack cocaine valued at N$1 000.
