JOHANNESBURG – Namibia’s top archers continue to excel at the 64th Annual South African National Championships currently taking place at Marks Park Sports Club in Johannesburg. Final seeding after the completion of the 1440 full round is as follows:
6th Place – Ilana Malan (Compound Women)
6th Place – Louw Nel (Compound Men)
1st Place – Ruan van Staaden (Compound Junior Men)
1st Place – Xander Reddig (Recurve Cadet Men)
1st Place – Elizabeth Taljaard (Compound Cadet Women)
2nd Place – Hendrik van Eeden (Compound Cadet Men)
1st Place – Hanne Snyman (Compound Girls Under-13)
Hanné Snyman shot a record-breaking 1404 making her the first Namibian archer to ever achieve a score of 1400 or more. Snyman is also only the 2nd female archer to ever shoot a 1400+ on the African continent. The 720 Round & Eliminations competition got off to a good start on Tuesday with Namibian archers currently seeded as follows:
1st Place – Xander Reddig (Recurve Cadet Men)
7th Place – Ilana Malan (Compound Women)
2nd Place – Ruan van Staaden (Compound Junior Men)
3rd Place – Hendrik van Eeden (Compound Cadet Men)
4th Place – Jackson Engel (Compound Cadet Men)
2nd Place – Elizabeth Taljaard (Compound Cadet Women)
1st Place – Hanné Snyman (Compound Girls Under-13)
Xander Reddig shot a personal best 640, his 2nd qualifying score in preparation for the 2014 Youth Olympics in Nanjing, China.
Elimination rounds commenced yesterday.
