WINDHOEK – It was relatively quiet on the crime front this weekend with only one armed robbery reported in the Khomas Region.

It is alleged two suspects shifted the door of a shebeen on May 17 in Havana location in Katutura, held a female employee at gunpoint and removed some unspecified properties. No arrests were made as yet and police investigations continue.

An adult male Steven Meyer collapsed and died in Khomasdal on Saturday at around 16h00 after a drinking session at a shebeen in Isabel Street.

A 33-year-old Namibian male hanged himself with a towing belt. Elifas Tuhafeni Shikongo reportedly hanged himself from a tree in the Havana settlement south of Havana Primary School. No suicide note was left and the next of kin were informed.

On Thursday morning May 15, at about 06h45, 22-year-old Lucia Kaunamwene Ndinelago Mwaalwa, Lucia allegedly hanged herself. The deceased was a student at Unam. No further details were provided but the incident reportedly occurred on the eve of her graduation.
