While most members of parliament (MPs) declared businesses and million dollars worth of assets, some MPs submitted empty declaration forms.
Such MPs include deputy international relations minister Jenelly Matundu, Swanu leader Evilastus Kaaronda, AR’s Tuhafeni Kalola, Marlayn Mbakera, Helaria Mukapuli, Ruth Masake, James Uerikua, Sebastian Karupa, Lilani, Rodney Cloete, Fenny Tutjavi, Winnie Moongo, Diedrick Vries, Tobie Aupindi, Marius Sheya, and Borniface Susika.
There are also a number of MPs who are yet to submit their asset declaration forms.
Residential properties
Most MPs have mainly declared residential properties.
Among them, Kumbua Ambrosius declared a residential property of 1000 m² in Bagani, Mukwe constituency.
Swapo MP and Swapo Youth League leader Ephraim Nekongo owns one house in Ongwediva.
He also pledged his allegiance to Kalahari Holdings PTY as a board member.
MP Nono Katjingisua declared three houses in Gobabis and Windhoek and one in an unspecified village.
Katjingisua has another homestead in Aminuis.
IPC’s Lilian Lutuhezi has declared a residential plot.
Clergyman
Body of Christ leader Festus Thomas has a house in Ondangwa and a homestead at Omangoto.
MP Tuuliki Abraham declared a townhouse in Luderitz.
She owns a village house in Onelago in Ondangwa Rural.
Her vehicles include a Toyota Hilux 2.8 GD-6 Double Cab 4×4 Legend RS, a Legend 45, a Toyota SRX Single Cab, and a VW Polo.
MP Elder Filipe has two houses under his name in Grootfontein.
In Swapo secretary general Sophia Shaningwa’s declaration, there is only one property, Rocky Crest, Windhoek.
Additionally, former deputy prime minister Natangwe Ithete declared four houses: Otjiwarongo (957 m²), Okahao (500 m²), Oshakati (815 m²), and Ongwediva (657 m²).
He also declared a directorship and a partnership in Danat Investment CC and Midway Investment CC.
Former Kavango West governor Sirka Ausiku owns three residential properties in Hockland, Windhoek, Nkurenkuru, and Rundu.
She also has 8% shares in Ombaye Fishing PTY LTD and is a GIPF pension beneficiary.
MP Lucia Mbuti owns a house in Otjohorongo in Daures constituency and another in the Zeraeua Traditional Authority.
IPC Armas Amukoto owns a family residence in Omuthiya and another just next to it.
He also declared his house in Wanaheda, Windhoek.
MP Aloisius Kangulu has interests in Land and Fencing CC, which provides micro-lending services.
He has two residential houses and a plot at the coast, specifically Walvis Bay.
He also owns a residential homestead in Oshitutuma Village.
He is a beneficiary of the Ministry of Defence pension.
Meanwhile, IPC parliamentarian Ottilie Haitota is employed outside parliament with a salary.
She works at Newly Investment CC, which she indicates is dormant.
She owns a plot at Ekamba, Uukwambi, in the Omusati Region.
MP Derek Klazen is a pension beneficiary of GIPF.
MP Martha Itope forms part of the trusts in GIPF and Metropolitan.
She is also a pension beneficiary of Old Mutual, with benefits in the corporate segment.
LPM legislator Eneas Emvula pledged affiliation with EJS trading enterprises.
He’s a beneficiary of a pension from parliament, according to his indications on the form.
Swapo MP Sharonice Busch declared a private Momentum Life Cover.
She is a beneficiary of the Sanlam Unit Trust.
She declared travel sponsorships by the Pan-African Youth Union.
Busch is the vice president of the Pan-African Youth Union.
MP Isra Kanyemba is the owner of Noble K Trading, a rental property.
He owns two vehicles, a VW Polo 2014 and a VW Polo 2019.
MP Mathias Mbunda declared a million-dollar house.
Lawmaker Hilma Iita declared residential property in Windhoek.
MP Ferdinand Hengombe declared personal property in Omaruru.
MP Bertha declared a Jac T6.
IPC MP Mulunga Lizazi declared 200 shares in MTC.
Hendrick Gaobeb declared a pension with GIPF.
Abed-Nego Hishoono declared property in Ondangwa.
MP Vilho Ihemba declared a “dwelling” of 6 hectares and a small garden at an unspecified location.
PDM legislator Rosa Mbinge-Tjeundo declared a residential plot at an unindicated location.
Swapo deputy secretary general Uaheka Herunga declared a house in Opuwo, while Paula Kooper declared a house.
MP Likando Liwela declared a VW Golf 7 TSI.
MP Simon April only declared the GIPF pension.
