Auas Motors recently opened a dealership in Tsumeb making it the only other car dealer, besides Pupkewits Toyota, with a dealership at the Copper town. Auas motors is the sole distributor of GM products in Namibia, that comprise of Chevrolet, Opel, and Isuzu car models.

“Auas Motors is proud to present our new showroom in Tsumeb. We truly feel proud to open our doors in Tsumeb. An area together with the surrounding towns represent a vital market in the Namibian automotive market,” Managing Director of Auas motors Frans van Staden said at the official opening of the branch.

“GM is one of the largest vehicle manufacturers in the world, and we are proud to be associated with them. The brands that we distribute on behalf of GM is Chevrolet, Opel and Isuzu. Chevrolet celebrated 100 years of existence in 2012 and that makes it a well-known and reliable brand,” said van Staden.

Auas Motors was established in 1953 and first functioned under the name of “The American Motor Company”. In the 70’s the name changed to Auas Motors, but with sanctions and withdrawal of General Motors South Africa in 1987, Delta Motor Corporation took it over and the name changed to Auas Delta. General Motors re-invested in South Africa in 2004 and the name was changed back to Auas Motors.

Auas Motors is a wholly owned subsidiary of Nictus Holdings, a public company with its primary listing on the NSX and has branches in Otjiwarongo, Ongwediva, Walvis Bay, Swakopmund, Windhoek, Gobabis, Mariental and now Tsumeb.

Auas Motors also have Authorised Service Centre’s in Oranjemund, Keetmanshoop, Luderitz, Rundu, and Katima Mulilo.
