Namibian President Hage Gottfried Geingob has died at 00h04 on Sunday in a Windhoek hospital. He was 82.

“We have good standing in Africa and in the world. Many people think we have a very good approach to governance. Our governance architecture is admired.
They say a prophet is not respected in his own country. We can only recognise you when you are dead,”

THE Cancer Association of Namibia (CAN) on Friday led a community health initiative in Windhoek offering free crucial screenings to more than 100 men and 100 women.

Oshikoto governor Penda ya Ndakolo has expressed condolences to former First Lady Monica Geingos, the children, family, close friends and the entire country following the death of President Hage Geingob yesterday.

Newly inaugurated President Nangolo Mbumba, who succeeded the late President Hage Geingob, has promised to pick up from where his predecessor left off and continue his legacy. 

The nation was plunged into mourning yesterday following the announcement of the death of President Hage Geingob, Namibia’s third democratically-elected leader.
