NIPAM boasts achievements

The Namibia Institute of Public Administration and Management (NIPAM) has achieved several milestones and overcome various challenges in the last few years.  
For the past nine years, NIPAM has been challenged with getting accreditation for its courses. Accreditation, in general, is a recognition granted by an accrediting body, the Namibia Qualifications Authority (NQA), in the Namibian paradigm.

Despite the call to add value to the sector, small-scale fisheries in Oshana do not have access to a market to sell their fish. As a result, hundreds of fishmongers are left to sell their fish informally at the open market or pension payout points while the surplus is left to lose value as there are no proper cooling or storage facilities.

Lawyer accuses cop of planting evidence

The lawyers for American murder accused Marcus Thomas and Kevan Townsend this week issued blank denials to the testimony of chief inspector Felix Ndikoma on what he discovered during his investigation. Salomon Kanyemba, on behalf of Thomas, told the inspector during cross-examination that his client is denying that he smuggled in a silencer and two gun barrels in a “table leg”.

Water affairs minister Calle Schlettwein is concerned over the ongoing theft of water pumps at State boreholes meant to serve needy communities in Namibia’s rural areas. “The theft of pumps and destruction of communal boreholes is worsening and continuing unabated,’’ he said in a Facebook post.
