By Kuvee Kangueehi WINDHOEK One of the big races in the country, the annual Bank Windhoek National Business Challenge Relay, will take place on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 July this year at the Unam Sportsgrounds in Windhoek. Hundreds of businesses and schools in Namibia are expected to participate in this fun-filled event. Bank Windhoek has called on all businesses and schools to accept the challenge and to enter running, walking and cycling teams. Bank Windhoek has already entered 30 staff member teams for the biggest relay event of its kind in Namibia. Launching the event the Senior Manager of Marketing and Corporate Communication Services at Bank Windhoek, Marlize Horn said: “Bank Windhoek is once again the main sponsor of this event, the biggest business challenge relay in Namibia. Bank Windhoek believes that physical fitness is essential for a healthy mind and that teamwork is the central focus in all successful business environments. The Bank Windhoek National Business Challenge Relay provides an excellent platform for teamwork and relationship building.” Entry forms are available at all Bank Windhoek branches, or interested parties can contact Charles Gordon of Windhoek Harriers Club. Information on the Bank Windhoek Business Challenge Relay is also available on website ‘www. bankwindhoek.com.na’. The events for Saturday 15 July, which are running and walking, start at one o’clock while the activities on Sunday 16 July, which are cycling, start at nine o’clock. The categories are men, women, mixed and veterans. Although the early bird entries closed on the 13th of June 2006 there is still time to enter until Saturday, 1 July, which will be the last day for entries. The entry fees are N$195 per team of four while school teams will pay N$120. The route is 20 km for the walking and running teams and 5 km per team member, while 80 km for the cycling teams and 20 km per team member.
