BIDDING went on unabated during the Aucor Super Car auction held on Saturday, and despite it being year-end, and people claiming to be cash strapped, a total of 33 out of the 35 cars were sold under the hammer.

An impressive line-up of late model, low mileage luxury sedans, SUV’s and 4×4’s got the attention, and according to Neil Engelbrecht (CEO Aucor Namibia), the vehicles were bank repossessed, fleet cars, dealers and late estate cars in the mix. This was the third Super Auction for the year, and was well attended.

In the mix were three Mercedes Benz ML’s,  five Toyota Fortuna’s, a white Dodge Calibre, a Jeep, a Hyundai H1 people carrier, as well as a Land Rover Disco. All vehicles were late models with impressively low mileage and in very good nick.

“Guys were picking up really good cars at very good prices”, said Neil, adding. “The bidders determined the prices which were way below book value in the middle to lower price range.

“And when you looked at the vehicles we had on the floor, bargain hunters were taking cars for reasonable prices and got what they want.”

He also pointed out that all vehicles were showroom ready; and many still carried their factory service Warrantee. The steal of the day according to Neil, was a Toyota 3-litre D4D Fortuna 4×4 went for N$250 00, a Merc ML350 with low mileage went for N$280 000, a Land Rover Disco Td4 in mint condition went for N$310, and a late model Hyundai Bus was sold for N$200.

He further added that bargain hunters looking for a super set of wheels can catch up with the Aucor Super Car auction held on Saturday 7 December. But a heap of cars will auctioned off today 7, November, with 75 bank repossessed fleet cars going under the hammer. The public can go to the Aucor webpage www.aucornamibia.com for further information.
