WINDHOEK- As from next year Miss Tourism Namibia will be an annual event and Namibian beauties interested are encouraged to partake.
Miss Tourism Namibia 2013, 21-year-old Ophelia Emvula represented Namibia at Miss Tourism World 2013 which took place in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea recently. Namibia was this year represented by Miss Tourism Namibia, Ophelia Emvula who is also Miss Youth Namibia First Princess as well as Miss Coast Namibia 2013. “We could not find a better representative than her,” confirms Miss Tourism Namibia organiser, Venancius Rukero. “As from next year Miss Tourism Namibia will be an annual event that will be happening during the tourism festival. She says the main aim of the Miss Tourism beauty pageant is to promote tourism and culture of each of the host nations. “We strongly believe in the tourism message of each of the countries involved in Miss Tourism, and are proud to help these nations attract both domestic and international visitors and investors,” says Rukero. Emvula says it was overwhelming to meet different people from different backgrounds and seeing the beautiful nature of Equatorial Guinea when sightseeing. “It was a privilege to be chosen to represent my country, even though I did not make it to the top 20, I still represented our country well,” Emvula prides herself.
