Biggie Mzansi Secrets says goodbye to Jase

Home Art Life Biggie Mzansi Secrets says goodbye to Jase

He laughed, he cried, won immunity and Head of House once each, changed his hairstyle multiple times, exercised more and even danced, but after 42 days, it was time for Durbanite Jase to exit the Big Brother Mzansi Secrets house having received the fewest viewer votes this week.

Audiences watching the live Sunday Show (March 16) on Mzansi Magic (DStv channel 161) bid farewell to the 21-year-old university student, as he made his departure from the reality show. He left behind his rival in romance Sol who, along with Lexi, were also nominated this week. After AKA opened the show with his new hit track Congratulate, host Lungile Radu reminded him of Biggie’s Statue Game where Housemates must freeze when Big Brother signals them to do so.  Biggie then sends distractions into the house to see if the Housemates are strong enough not to react.  The stakes are high because should a Housemate react they might be automatically nominated the following week. They will not be eligible to compete in the Head of House task or the individual immunity challenge in the Arena. On Sunday Biggie got really serious with the Statue Task by sending AKA, along with fellow South African heavyweights Da L.E.S and Maggz, into the House as the shocked Housemates stood frozen in place. For Kat, who is a massive AKA fan, the task definitely tested her especially when the star leaned down to kiss her on the cheek.

After the trio left the House, Lungile introduced an insert featuring last week’s evictee Lola, whose eviction left both gal-pal Thando and close companion MK in tears. Lungile then recapped last week’s nominations which saw Jase, Lexi and Thando initially up for eviction before ‘third time lucky’ Head of House Mzamo (who is HoH for the fourth time this coming week) saved Thando and nominated Sol for eviction in her place. Of course, Mzamo had to unexpectedly reveal his ‘save and replace’ choice on Friday just before the exhilarating Friday Night Game kicked off.

With Jase, Lexi and Sol watching, Biggie asked non-nominated Housemates to pick an amount of money that they would leave the Big Brother house immediately for. Whilst most of the Housemates picked large amounts, it was Mandla and Thando who selected the lowest amounts. Questioning whether the two were not committed to the game, or if they were just not greedy, Biggie sent them both to the Vault to play the thrilling Buzzer Game.

With a screen ticking up to an unknown amount of money, the pressure was on for the two, who could at any time have pressed the buzzer and walked away with the amount of money shown on the screen at that point. And while the first to press the buzzer would take the cash and leave immediately, the other would win immunity and a free pass to the final week. From the outset, it seemed Mandla was playing for immunity while Thando was considering taking the cash and leaving the game. But she pressed the buzzer a few breathless seconds too late missing out on a possible R 200 000 cash prize meaning that she and Mandla both returned to the house empty handed.

And while Mandla, Thando and the rest of the Housemates contemplated what might have been, the following day they received two pleasant surprises in the form of celebrity guests Kuli Roberts and DJ Lulo Café who was on the decks at the Saturday night party. Then, having confirmed the good news that the official Big Brother Mzansi Facebook page had passed the 100 000 likes mark, Lungile was handed this week’s eviction results by auditing firm SizweNtsalubaGobodo and got back to the task of announcing this week’s evictee. First he announced that newly brunette Lexi had been saved, to the annoyance of Mzamo who had been firm in his conviction that she must leave the game though no doubt, Mandla was very happy with the outcome. With just Jase and Sol now left in the firing line, Lungile quizzed Kat on her feelings on just which of her former flames should stay and who should go.  Non-committal at first, Kat soon revealed that it was Jase who she would want to see leave.

Heading up the spiral suitcase, out of the house, Jase spoke to Lungile on stage saying that he was thankful for his fans. Discussing his relationship with Kat, he confessed that things did become real for him in the relationship. But he also admitted that he and Kat shared a 50/50 split in terms of responsibility for why the relationship didn’t work and that he hoped they could be friends after the show ends.  He also said that if he could give Sol any advice, he would tell him to ‘guard his heart.’

Jase also spoke about his heated argument earlier in the week with Mandla, saying that he felt he should have done better in the situation and that he was a bit disappointed in himself. At the end of his interview, Jase told Lungile that given the opportunity he would like to be a TV presenter.

And as Jase headed home AKA, Da L.E.S and Maggz closed out the Sunday show with the sensational track Heaven. With ten Housemates now left in the game, and the mouth-watering R 1 million prize still up for grabs, it’s anyone’s game.
