WINDHOEK – Going into tonight’s penultimate MTC Premiership clash, reigning Namibian champions Black Africa will be out to avenge last year’s defeat at the hands of Ramblers when the two cross-town rivals greeted each other in the corresponding fixture last term.
After a sluggish start to their title defence, Brian Isaacs’ expensively assembled charges come up against a wounded Ramblers outfit that have suffered consecutive defeats in their last three outings – leaving them lingering dangerously just above the relegation zone.
A likely victory for BA would propel them within two points of log leaders Tigers and with the early pace-setters facing a daunting task in their next assignment with a penultimate tie against FNB Orlando Pirates on Saturday, the Gemengde-based side would like to seize this opportunity to stay within close proximity of their closest title rival.
In recent outings, Ramblers have enjoyed the upper hand against their more fancied opponents but BA is very much aware of the fact that another slip would put its title credentials into serious jeopardy, while Rammies are looking for maximum points to wangle themselves out of the danger zone. The two giants will lock horns at the Sam Nujoma Stadium tonight at 20h00.
