Danric Auto launched the new elegant BMW X5 range of luxury mid size SUV’s last week at their showroom, with the unveiling of the stunning BMW X5 xDrive50i during a high society cocktail function.
Clearly BMWX5 has moved firmly into the lead in the family 4×4 business with the introduction of its third-generation X5 “sport activity vehicle” which can cost you over cool million bucks for the top of the range.
Dripping with luxury and too many features to mention, it is agreed that the redesigned 2014 BMW X5 offers elegant interior styling, as well as athletic handling and powerful engine choices that few luxury SUVs can match.
The 2014 BMW X5 sDrive35i comes standard with a turbocharged six-cylinder engine. A turbocharged V8 is available in X5 xDrive50i models, with the turbodiesel X5 xDrive35d, which offers ample power and gets great fuel economy for the class. The base 2014 BMW X5 gets an EPA-estimated 19/27 mpg city/highway, which is good for the class, while the turbodiesel model gets an excellent 23/31 mpg city/highway. Test drivers agree that the X5 has very sharp handling for a luxury midsize SUV, and they praise its accurate steering system and strong brakes.
The 2014 X5 also earns praise for its features, which include a panoramic moonroof, navigation, BMW’s iDrive infotainment system, leatherette upholstery and power-adjustable heated front seats. Optional features include leather upholstery, a 360-degree Surround View parking camera system, lane departure warning and a night vision system with pedestrian detection.
