WINDHOEK-Twenty-two-year-old model, Bobby Kaanjosa, has been chosen to represent Namibia at the Mr and Miss Diversity Culture International (DCI) pageant and fashion show in The Philippines from November 23 to December 5.

Bobby says to represent Namibia at such events outside the country is a gigantic platform for him to showcase his talents on an international platform. DCI, an international pageant, aims at celebrating diversity  and culture through beauty, fashion and entertainment while connect people of different ethnicities  and  cultures.  “I want to educate the world about Namibian cultural diversities. I want to be able to paint the world with the Namibian colours and this is my chance to shine and for Namibians too. I have a dream to be a Namibian ambassador, which one day I will achieve,” says Bobby.

He grew up in the dusty town of Walvis Bay and attended his lower education at Immanuel Ruiters Primary school and Tutaleni Primary school proceeding to the Kuisebmond Secondary School where he completed his high school in 2012. “Growing up, I always had the passion for entertainment and instantly fell in love with acting, which allowed me to be part of lots of shows but ended up studying Banking Finance at the Institute of Bankers (IOB) where I am currently a second year student. I am also pursuing a Diploma in Performing Arts at the College of the Arts (COTA) at the same time,” he says.

He also always had a passion for modelling and for different fashions. In 2008, Bobby entered his first amateur pageant and was crown Mr Kuisebmond 2008. “My second pageant was when I took part in Mr and Miss Excellence 2012 and I was crowned 1st Prince. Last year I went into the professional fashion industry, despite standing at only 1.68m tall, I begun doing photo shoots and did two runway shows. My achievement so far as a model is when I had an opportunity to walk at the African Finest Culture & Fashion Show earlier this year. And also being chosen to represent my country at an international platform such as DCI and to have had the chance to become an industry practitioner,” he says.

Currently Bobby is managing a Namibian top model, Cheeze Uahupirapi as well as being a fashion and entertainment critic for Artwolfe Zine and Entertainment Police Namibia. He appeals to both organisations and individuals to help him with sponsorship to achieve his dreams.
