Namibia Economic Freedom Fighters’ (NEFF) presidential candidate Epafras Mukwilongo has urged voters to turn up in large numbers on Wednesday to decisively free Namibians from the yoke of poverty.

He said that the NEFF’s manifesto speaks directly to the driving youth, urging them to make their voices heard through the ballot by voting for NEFF. Mukwilongo said his party believes in empowering youth, not just in words, but in real life.

He made the call at the party’s final mega rally held at Okatana-Oshakati in Oshana region on Saturday.

“This election is a once-in a lifetime opportunity to demand leaders who truly care about your future. This is not a time to be complacent, but it is time to act.

By casting your vote for NEFF, you are choosing a government that puts you and the people of Namibia first. You are choosing a government that believes in economic freedom in our lifetime,” Mukwilongo said.

He said for 34 years, the country struggled under a system that allegedly claims to serve its people but has continually overlooked their cries, needs, and dreams. A resource-rich nation like Namibia is shackled by a lack of genuine economic freedom and opportunity for its people.

“We pledge to refit policies that have kept you from achieving your true potential to economic freedom in our lifetime. NEFF’s mission is to focus on economic policies that prioritise job creation, fair wages, affordable housing, and improved healthcare and education systems.

We will work to reform land distribution so that land is no longer in the hands of a few but fairly allocated to empower our people,” Mukwilongo said.

The politician said the upcoming election marks the beginning of a new era.

Even though the party was deregistered before being re-registered, he said it has proved countless times to Namibians that it is capable.

It has demonstrated its commitment to the betterment of the lives of Namibians through demonstrations to assist oppressed workers get justice.

“Stand with us; stand for a future where no Namibian is left behind.

A future where our resources benefit all our people, not just select a few,” the businessman and politician appealed.
