WINDHOEK- Fans, family and friends went wild whenNamibia’s musical representative at this year’s World Cup, the Bullet Ya-Kaoko emerged from of the Hosea Kutako International Airport building last Monday when they returned home.
The bullets arrived late in the evening from Brazil after performing at the Soccer World Cup in Brazil. According to the Marketing Officer of the group,Theunis Kandjii, also known as Zox, the Bullet’s trip to the World Cup was very fruitful and successful.Zox adds that the group managed to secure performances at six renowned world trade fairs around the globe and had the opportunity to meet superstars like Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez and Brazil’s most famous musician Claudia Leitte, amongst others“The group performed at Pre shows and Half time performances at matches between Argentina and Bosnia in Rio De Janeiro on June 15 and Portugal vs. Ghana on June 26 in Brasilia. For the duration of their stay the group performed at extra activities such as the Fifa Fan Fest in Sao Paulo, Brasilia and Belo Horizonte,” says Kandjii.
The group had two powerful exclusive interviews on Brazil biggest TV station ‘TV Globo’ and world renowned television station ‘Desperado America’ as well as with major newspaper interviews from countless newspapers such as the leading Spanish paper ‘Marca’ and the world renowned New York Times.

Five members of the group will receive scholarships to study music in Brazil FROM??. And the group is soon to be starting a Bullet Ya Namibia Foundation to help the underprivileged children’s from across the country.
The group thanked the sponsors who made the trip possible including the Prime Minister and his Office, Namibia Wildlife Resorts (NWR), the Governor of the Khomas region, Foreign Affairs Ministry, John Savva, Swapo Party Secretary General and Minister of Gender Equality and Child Welfare. This is the second time the group performed at the World Cup, the first being in 2010 in South Africa.
