Jacques Burger, 32, is captain of the Namibian senior rugby team and plays professional rugby for English giants Saracens in the Aviva Premiership. His height is 1.88 metres and he weighs 105 kg. He made his international debut against Zambia in 2004.
Burger represented Namibia at the 2007 World Cup in France and captained the team at the 2011 World Cup in New Zealand. At the 2011 edition, IRB’s Rugby News Service listed Jacques Burger as one of the top 5 players of the tournament.
Since joining Saracens midway through the 2009/10 rugby season the English club’s backline has earned a reputation as some of the toughest tacklers in the English Premiership. The hard-tackling Namibian was named the Saracens Player of the Year following his debut season in England. Burger also previously played for the Blue Bulls in South Africa and for French side, Aurillac.
